Merry Christmas to you all x

I'm so excited for the post-Christmas sales. 

Here's basically what I've been up to the past few days. 

American Hustle was as good as it looked, and surprisingly it was quite funny. 

We went to Grill'd Burgers for lunch and my god it was the best burger I've ever had in my life. 

The first four photos are just the result of me playing around with a self timer app. Oh and my mum bought a 5kg box of cherries. Yes, that's right. 5 k-i-l-o-g-r-a-m-s. 

It's just as well that I like cherries then.

Taken on one of the hottest days I've lived through so far in my life. It hit 41 degrees Celsius. 

These past few days have been so unproductive; I haven't been in the mood to do anything really. Sometimes I have those moods where I want to do something, like get out and go to the city or beach or something, but for some reason I don't. 

It's like my life is on a tether; I always have the nagging thought of schoolwork at the back of my head, and to an extent I think it's becoming an excuse I use too often to get out of doing what I want. I mean, I want to be the kind of person who does things on a whim, I want to live my life as though there is no tomorrow, to break out of my comfort zone and explore the world, but to me it's always been a distant maybe in the future. 

I know that things aren't going to happen if I don't make them, and to be honest I'm shit scared of never doing the things I want because I keep putting it off as part of an exciting future, only to lapse into a boring life which is probably what my parents have in mind for me. 

So this holiday, I'm going to go places I've always wanted but never did in the past. 

Today, however is still extremely extremely hot and any attempt at getting some work out of the way has gone down the drain. In fact, when I tried to sit down and write a creative piece for English all I succeeded in doing was writing a detailed description of the agony of the hot weather (well, I did use a metaphor at least). 

So instead, I forced my sister to sit down with me and watch Les Mis which I watched last year when it came out and I have been trying to get my family to watch it with me again for the past year. 

I was absolutely obsessed with the film when I first watched it - history remains one of my favourite subjects, and we had just learnt about the French Revolution prior to me watching it, and so everything just really clicked and the struggle of the people and the ignorance of the rich and the revolutionary spirit made me all emotional (no kidding, I cried so much for Fantine and Valjean at the end). 

My sister did not appreciate it nearly as much but she likes Javert the most because he always talks about himself in the third person and that is funny (but it's not meant to be a comedy ahh!). 

Tomorrow we're gonna go and see American Hustle and go find a new place to eat lunch, while doing a bit of shopping. Jennifer Lawrence is like my biggest girl crush right now, so I'm so excited to see the movie.

super dooper

So today was the first day of the holidays and it's super super hot. I just tried to clean out my desk and succeeded in only removing a few sheets before my face became a water feature. Need some time to work up the motivation to sort through all my books.

So since I haven't done anything exciting (yet) I just have a few photos from this morning. Not really an outfit post, but sort of an outfit post. 

Currently reading The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway. 

Yeah, and yesterday I tried to trim some layers in my hair cos I'm getting so bored with it. When I got it cut it was quite even as far as length goes, and now that it's growing out it's starting to look a tad frumpy. 

But yeah, "cutting layers" was basically just choosing random strands and making them shorter haha. I think I'll try again sometime later. Weirdly enough, I'm more scared of going to the hairdressers to get my hair cut than I am of myself with a pair of scissors. 

OH and isn't Devon Aoki such a babe?! Currently obsessing over her, thanks to tumblr. 

And yes, Fast and Furious is one of the only action series I like.

last few days

There's only two more days of school til the Christmas holidays and I can't wait. I don't really know how I feel right now. Every other year, I've felt pretty happy when it came down to the last few days, but it doesn't feel like the end of the year right now. I like finales, but I feel so tired and just want the holidays to come already. There's nothing new for me next year anyway, I've just finished the first term of the HSC.

So far we've gotten maths and chem back, and I'm pretty happy I suppose. I did a lot better than I expected in all three of my maths tests, and chemistry, well, there's still next term. 

We went to watch the second Hunger Games movie and it was so good! I was crying 15 minutes into the film, but all the actiony scenes in the arena were probably my favourite. Plus, Sam Claflin as Finnick does not disappoint haha. 

On Sunday, we went to Parramatta for a farewell lunch for my mum's cousin and his wife, as they're leaving for Melbourne. The food was pretty nice, but I didn't get pictures. Too awkward, didn't want all these people thinking I'm completely weird for just whipping out my phone and taking pictures of the food.

Then on Sunday night, it was my friend's birthday dinner at Pancakes on the Rocks. Finally got a chance to wear my stripper-librarian heels which I got ages ago. The food was delicious, if you're wondering, and honestly I'm so hungry just thinking about it. 

Actually not really, I just finished off half a tub of potato and gravy from KFC. That's the only good thing about cricket - kfc's their sponsor and had some insane dinner deal thing with so many pieces of chicken for like $25. We got it on the Saturday and we're still finishing it off.

i'm a good girl who wears ballet flats

I live in this denim jacket nowadays. Best $10 (!!!) I've ever spent.

Right now I'm waiting to go grocery shopping (Every. Single. Week. I'm like the best child ever.) and just scrolling through tumblr and trying not to get depressed about how many insanely gorgeous girls there are out there (most of whom are younger than me lol). 

Funny story time. My dad thinks my maths skills are being held back by me doing my eyeliner. 

Oh sigh, the weather's so nice today. I need to fix my sock tan line, but it seems almost beyond help.

The Great Flemington Adventure involved a massive food coma (from pho) which resulted in memory loss and an inability to remember what we did prior to that.

It feels to be out again though, that's for sure, since my exams finished yesterday, and I'm living it up, clearly (jokes, I need to catch up on the tv I missed). 

Aside from that, I'm just a little bit excited that A Christmas Carol is on tonight.

From yesterday. A group of us dragged ourselves to Westfield to forget the failure that was 4U maths. Lucky for us, there was a 2 for 1 promo at the new yoghurt place which opened.
